Insider Tips

  • 🚃
Tram timing matters. The tram runs roughly every 30 minutes from Port de Sóller. If multiple ships are in port, the queue at the tram stop fills fast — head there soon after tendering ashore.
  • 💶
Bring euros in cash. Tram tickets (around €8 each way) are often paid onboard, and small vendors in Sóller market and some cafés prefer cash. There are ATMs in Sóller and a couple in Port de Sóller.
  • 🍊
Buy the oranges. Sóller's valley oranges and locally pressed olive oil are genuinely excellent and easy to pack. Saturday market is the best spot; otherwise check the town shops on Carrer de sa Lluna.
  • ⛱️
Beach chairs cost extra. Platja d'en Repic rents sun loungers; budget €10–15 for a set. The beach is free to use without one.
  • 🌡️
Summer heat is real. July–August temperatures regularly exceed 30 °C. Carry water, wear sunscreen, and plan strenuous walks or hikes in the morning.
