Where the Sonoran Desert meets the sea — Guaymas delivers authentic Mexico, a one-of-a-kind pearl farm, and the resort shores of San Carlos just 20 minutes away.
Ships dock at the commercial pier; the port is industrial with no cruise village at the gangway.
💡 Pro move: Do not attempt to walk from the pier to the city center — it's 1.5–2 miles through an active industrial port, and pedestrian access is restricted.
Guaymas is a docked port with vessels tying up at the commercial Terminal de Cruceros; no tendering required.

From world-famous pearl culturing to desert-meets-sea diving and the scenic splendor of San Carlos, Guaymas punches well above its size.
The only active saltwater pearl farm in the Americas. A guided tour shows how rare rainbow-hued Cortez pearls are cultured from living oysters — ending at the on-site jewelry shop. Unforgettable and unique to this port.

Start at Plaza de los Tres Presidentes with its large bronze statues of three Mexican presidents born here. Walk one block to Templo de San Fernando, a striking 19th-century brick church. Head downhill to the Malecón waterfront boardwalk, passing the Monument to the Fisherman and fishing-fleet views. Return through the Mercado Municipal for fresh juice and a taco.
Playa Miramar is the closest swimming beach to the port — calm, clear turquoise water in a protected bay. Take a taxi from downtown (~$5 USD), swim or rent a kayak, eat at one of the palapa restaurants on the sand, and taxi back with plenty of time to spare.
