Insider Tips

  • Tender timing: Collect your tender ticket early — queues form quickly on busy port days. Note the last tender time posted in the ship's daily programme.
  • 🍷
Buy wine to take home: AOC Bandol reds and rosés are exceptional and often cheaper at estate shops than on board. Check your airline's liquid allowance before loading up.
  • 🏖️
Capelan beach is pebbly: Plage de Renécros is the sandy option; Capelan beach nearby has crystal-clear water but bring aqua shoes — it's shingle and pebbles.
  • 🚂
Easy day trips by train: Bandol station (800 m from the quay) connects to Toulon (15 min) and Marseille (40 min). Cassis is accessible but its station is 3 km from the harbour — budget for a taxi downhill.
  • 💶
Cash handy: Most places accept cards, but smaller market stalls and ice-cream vendors are cash-only. ATMs are available in town.
